Creating a New Engineering Field with Finemechanics

In the Department of Finemechanics, we develop a new academic field and talented students / researchers / engineers to investigate and engineer supple but tough materials and systems over inorganic, organic and biological fields based on “sophisticated” mechanics at the atomic and molecular level. By engaging in the research and education in material mechanics, nanomechanics, biomechanics, and their related fields being expanded in a wide range of industrial fields from automobiles, aircrafts to health and medical devices, we promote sustainable “manufacturing” in harmony with people / environment / society / economy, and contribute to building a graceful and sustainable society.
