Graduate School of Environmental Studies
The Graduate School of Environmental Studies aims to contribute to constructing a social structure and science technology that supports the development of a sustainable society and cultivates human resources and advanced knowledge to panoramically cope with global scale issues of the future. Curriculum is prepared for learning a deep specialization and the comprehensive education pushes back traditional frameworks of humanities and science. In addition to that we prepare programs for cultivating an active ability to be involved in an international society. The laboratory of the Division of Mechanical Engineering that belongs to the Graduate School of Engineering, and is developing the technology of decentralizing energy systems with new research in fuel cells, hydrogen energy, researching sophisticated application technology that have the potential of the earth’s crust as a renewable energy resource, and others with interdisciplinary research of engineering, material science, or geoscience. Through this interdisciplinary research, we are contributing to the solution of issues about the global environment and energy needs.
