2017年10月1日、改修工事が終了したばかりの機械系テニスコートにおいて、コートのオープンイベントが行われました。
テニスコートの改修にあたっては、東北大学名誉教授の和田仁先生ならびに機械系同窓会にご支援をいただきました。
当日は和田先生と教員、学生によるエキシビションマッチも行われました。
機械系テニスコート（通称：和田コート）は、機械系の教職員・学生ならどなたでも利用することができます。
