JST “Sakura Science Plan” program for Thailand high school students

We run an exchange program for a delegate of 10 Thailand high school students led by the staff in the Tohoku University Thai Liaison Office from Nov. 17 to Nov. 22, 2019. This program was supported by the JST “Sakura Science Plan” (https://ssp.jst.go.jp/). It is a fulfilling program with dense contents to provide a valuable opportunity to Thailand students to experience in person the advanced research and education of Tohoku University, School of Engineering, especially the Division of Mechanics, and the IMAC® course. The program included lectures given by our professors to introduce several cutting-edge research topics, various visits such as Innovation Plaza, University House, as well as School of Science and School of Agriculture, also a visit to Sendai 3rd High School and a sightseeing in Matsushima. In the closing ceremony, all students gave reports on their impression and experience over these days. All of them satisfied very much with this program, and said that they would surely introduce all activities here to their juniors. Some of them show strong interest in our international degree program.
